Project abstract: Trust Lands Administration proposes the construction of a one acre monitoring exclosure on Trust Lands. The construction will consist of standard barbed wire fencing around an area 210'x210' square. This proposal is in cooperation and conjunction with the La Sal Sustainability Collaboration (LSSC) and the LSSC's monitoring proposal. This is one of several proposed exclosures across multiple grazing allotments grazed by La Sal Livestock and BLT Cattle Co. The exclosure will be for the purpose of long term monitoring in order to collect data documenting changes in range/ecological health and condition as well as effects of proposed grazing management changes.
Local government's response? A copy of this entry was sent with the notification, therefore no response has been received yet.
How is the local government(s) likely to be impacted? No direct impacts expected. Indirect impacts could come from the data collected from the exclosure.
Possible significant impacts likely to occur: It is anticipated that the grazing management changes proposed by the LSSC, if implemented, will improve overall condition of the lands within these allotments and data collected from the exclosures will document such.
